Sparx is a dragonfly from The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. Like all the characters from this game, his personality has changed greatly from previous games. In the reboot, Sparx looks more human, can now talk perfectly normal, and no longer buzzes. He also no longer serves as Spyro's health meter but as a sidekick, occasionally floating and hinting where Spyro should go next.
History
Sparx was born in the Swamp, alongside Spyro, and began to treat Spyro as his brother. One night, when the two were playing hide and seek, Sparx was kidnapped by some Apes. Spyro unleashed his fire breath, and, upon realising just how different he was, decided he wished to find out where he came from. He explained this to their parents, Flash and Nina, and left. Sparx then decided he'd miss Spyro too much, and came along with him for the journey. Sparx dislikes Cynder and, at first, blames her for what she did.
At the end of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, Sparx was frozen along with Cynder and Spyro.
In The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Sparx was reunited with Spyro. Still having doubts over Cynder, Sparx continues to help Spyro progress by guiding his path from time to time. When the time comes for them to travel to Burned Lands, Spyro tells Sparx to stay behind. However, Sparx makes Cynder promise him to look after Spyro. He is last seen watching the world come back together with the Dragon Elders.
