From Spyropedia
A Skill Point is an objective that can be carried out in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. They are miscellaneous tasks that can vary from finishing a Speedway under a certain time to simply jumping onto a specific area. Upon meeting the requirements for any Skill Point, an extra life will be rewarded to the player. Obtaining every Skill Point in the game will unlock the "Epilogue", an extra page in the Guidebook or Atlas which shows what happens after the events of that particular game.
There are 16 Skill Points in Ripto's Rage! and 20 in Year of the Dragon.
