Sgt. Byrd's Base is a realm located in Midday Gardens in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. In order to access this world, Moneybags must be paid to release Sgt. Byrd, who is the second alternate playable character in the game.

Story
Year of the Dragon
When Sgt. Byrd returns to his base, he is informed by Cpl. Gabrielle that the base is under the attack of Rhynocs. Many Hummingbirds have been captured by the Rhynocs and locked in cages, and it is up to Sgt. Byrd to release them and rid the base of the enemy.
At one point, a cave with grass and red-hot lava is sealed by a security switch, which only only be broken should the two buttons next to the doors be crushed by weights. Sgt. Byrd was able to clear the cave rescue the trapped Hummingbird, and advanced on.
Finally, Garbrielle reches her destination and gives her leader another egg (containing RyanLee). Sgt. Byrd then continued on and was able to rescue all the kidnapped Hummingbirds. One of the mentioned that before she was captured, she was able to steal an egg (containing Roy), and gives it to him.

Clear the building (RyanLee)
Clear the caves and building and follow Gabrielle.
Clear the Caves (Sigfried)
After defeating several rhynocs and using the BAM missles to open two wooden doors.
Rescue 5 hummingbirds (Roy)
Rescue all five Hummingbirds from their cages. One is well hidden, and will requite a bomb to open a hole in the ground where an unbreakable chest is to reach her.
Scenery Etc
Sgt. Byrd's Base is a rather grassy world, considering the amount of bombs that are let off prior to and during the events of the game. The Fodder in the world are small ladybugs. There are numerous caves, both large and small throughout the world. There are also Gophers which hide in their holes when you land on their territory and get too close.
