Mountain Fortress

Mountain Fortress is also known as "The Mountain of Malefor" and home to the Apes and Gaul The Ape King. Spyro goes there to save Cynder.

When he arrives, Gaul orders Cynder to attack Spyro. Cynder strikes up a plan to get Gaul's staff destroyed, however, Gaul sees past this and strikes her to the side, before taking on Spyro himself.

A fierce battle begins, but as The Night of Eternal Darkness occurs, Spyro becomes corrupt and destroys Gaul. Cynder then leaps onto Spyro and pushes him out of the way, and the mountain crumbles trapping her, Sparx and Spyro. Spyro then uses his Dragon Time to 'Ride out this storm, and live to fight another day'.
