Hippo

From Spyropedia

The Hippos are the native residents of Shady Oasis. They are small and have tiny wings on their backs. Once they eat berries from the Great Berry Bush, they grow larger, become temporarily invincible, and can smash their way through doors.

In the English version, the hippos are voiced by Melissa Disney.

Shorty

Shorty is the first Hippo that Spyro meets in Shady Oasis. He wears a blue shirt and a red fez. He is known to crave the berries that grow on the bushes throughout the realm, and requests Spyro's help in reaching the Great Berry Bush. He gives Spyro the Magic Lamp once they reach the Great Berry Bush.

Bruno

Bruno is located near the Great Berry Bush. He and Grundy both wear a red fez with a red-striped gown. He informs Spyro that three thieves have stolen their magic lamps, and gives the purple dragon an Orb for defeating the thieves and retrieving the lamps.

Grundy

Grundy is a female hippo located by the Invincibility Powerup Gate, which will activate after 18 enemies have been defeated. Her eight brothers have been encased in stone, and she will guide Spyro across the acid towards her brothers. If Spyro can headbash all of them free before they sink into the acid, Grundy will reward him with an Orb.
