Crush's Dungeon is the first boss level in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. It is accessible after collecting all six of Summer Forest's Talismans.

Defeating Crush here without getting injured once will earn Spyro a Skill Point.

The Battle

Spyro faces Crush in an enclosed arena, with torches on the wall and a moat of lava surrounding the battleground. Ripto watches safely from an elevated platform on the sidelines. When Spyro's health gets low, Elora will throw some sheep in from the opening above.

Scattered throughout the arena are seven circular pressure pads that are only usable by Crush. When he stands on them, they surround him with an impenetrable force field, and when he jumps on them, they will release their attack. Crush is only vulnerable to Spyro's flame breath while he is moving between pressure pads, where he will immediately smash the ground twice where Spyro was. This triggers an avalanche of rocks from the ceiling, which is what ultimately damages him.

At the onset of the battle, the pressure pads in the room are colored blue and release electrical shockwaves when Crush activates them. After taking two hits, the pads will change colors, and Crush's jumps will summon forth homing fireballs. In the final pinch of the battle, the pads will randomly alternate between red and blue, and Crush will start stomping on them with one foot after the other instead of jumping, allowing him three chances to hit Spyro instead of two. During this time, successful attacks on Crush will prompt him to start chasing Spyro for a short while and bring his club down in one solid hit instead of two, although it still triggers an avalanche of rocks.

After the Battle

After defeating Crush, one final avalanche will fall from the ceiling, completely burying him. Ripto will attempt to send Gulp to attack Spyro in Crush's stead, but Gulp gets stuck in the door and almost triggers a cave-in. Terrified, Ripto and Gulp retreat to Autumn Plains, preventing the dungeon from caving in on itself. The banners on Summer Forest's castle will revert to normal through the magic of the Guidebook, freeing the homeworld from Ripto's control.
