Buzz's Dungeon is the first boss world in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. It is accessible after clearing every realm in Sunrise Spring, and takes place before Spyro can reach Midday Gardens. Sheila assists Spyro in this battle.

Story
Year of the Dragon
Buzz was formerly a pot-throwing Rhynoc who was tasked with taunting Sgt. Byrd. When the Sorceress heard that Spyro was trying to reach Midday Gardens, she ordered Bianca to create a monster to kill him. Bianca proceeded to call over Buzz and work her magic; first turning him into a small fodder rabbit, and then into a large toad-like creature with dark green scaly skin and razor-sharp back spines.
Buzz confronted Spyro in a dungeon surounded by lava, but was normally sent flying by the young dragon, and sometimes hit the lava. Sheila the Kangaroo would continue to stomp him to ensure he sinks into the lava. Soon, Buzz found himself unable to escape following a hard stomp and sunk into the lava to his death.
The Battle
The battle takes place in a small circular arena, floating on a giant ocean of lava. The sky is black with ash, and fiery mountains and towers can be seen in the distance.
Buzz's initial attack is a charge to send Spyro flying backwards a great distance. Although the charge itself cannot injure Spyro, it is entirely capable of pushing him out of the arena and into the lava. The inverse situation is nearly identical; Spyro's charge attack does not injure Buzz, but it will push him backwards, where he will attempt to defend himself by hopping to the left or right once he recovers from the blow. When Buzz gets knocked out of the arena, he struggles in the lava until Sheila comes down and performs a Super Stomp on him, completely submerging him and causing him damage. Immediately after he is damaged, Buzz will leap out of the lava, curl up into a ball, and begin rolling towards Spyro with his buzzsaw spikes grating the arena floor for a time.
As Buzz's health depletes, he begins to defend himself in increased amounts after each charge. He first begins to temporarily shield himself by summoning a ring of fire and jumping to the side into it, where he will laugh at Spyro. As the battle wears on, he will cease laughing and instead use the ring he jumps into to breathe waves of fire at Spyro.
After Buzz is defeated, he will sink into the lava one final time with a sorrowful look on his face. A Dragon Egg containing Grayson will be released, and Spyro will resume his journey towards Midday Gardens.

- Buzz replicas appear during the battle in Scorch's Pit, hatching out of eggs.
